The Shooting Creek Basket Weavers Guild (SCBWG) is a local group that focuses on the shared knowledge and appreciation of basket making. The SCBWG meets every 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10:00 to 2:00 at the Shooting Creek Fire Station in Shooting Creek, North Carolina. Refreshments are served at 9:45, so come early to meet the members and socialize. Each meeting features a hands-on program given by one of our many talented members.
In 2022, SCBWG celebrated 20 years of service to the community. Our purpose of promoting and advancing the art of basketry continues as we share knowledge, skills and encourage the creativity of members. News releases, the website, and our activities in the community serve to stimulate public appreciation of basketry. We welcome both new and experienced weavers with a willingness to learn and promote the art of basketry.
