The Shooting Creek Basket Guild (SCBG) is a local group dedicated to the art and appreciation of basketry, serving the community in North Carolina and beyond. The SCBG meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Shooting Creek Fire Station in Shooting Creek, North Carolina. Fellowship begins at 9:45 AM, so come early to meet our members and socialize. Each meeting features a hands-on program presented by one of our talented members or guest teachers, perfect for anyone interested in basketry classes.
In 2022, SCBG proudly celebrated 20 years of promoting traditional basketry in our community. Our mission to advance the art of basketry is upheld by sharing knowledge and skills, encouraging creativity, and fostering lasting friendships among members. Through news releases, our website, and community activities, we aim to stimulate public appreciation for basketry. We welcome both new and experienced weavers who have a desire to learn and promote the craft of basketry.
